- Q. How would you describe your life in only 8 words?
- A. Outdoor girl, who loves kids, walks, cafes, writing
- Q. What is your motto or maxim?
- A. Be careful what you wish for... you might just get it.
- Q. How would you describe perfect happiness?
- A. For me, perfect happiness is a long country walk with my family, followed by a big English breakfast by the fire in a cafe. Other things that make me happy are long lie-ins and the smell of my children's hair.
- Q. What’s your greatest fear?
- A. I hate skeletons!
- Q. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you choose to be?
- A. Here, only warmer
- Q. With whom in history do you most identify?
- A. I'm not very good at history
- Q. What are your most overused words or phrases?
- A. Come on, Hurry up, Eat properly, Who left the bathroom light on. Stuff like that!
- Q. If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?
- A. I'd love to be a world famous pianist
- Q. What is your greatest achievement?
- A. Dealing with depression and coming out the other side a better and happier person
- Q. What’s your greatest flaw?
- A. Eating too many cakes and chocolate

- A. I have a good imagination and lots of ideas
- Q. If you could be any person or thing, who or what would it be?
- A. I'd be me, but younger!
- Q. What trait is most noticeable about you?
- A. My nose is always red
- Q. Who is your favorite fictional hero?
- A. At the moment I have to say Edward Cullen!
- Q. Who is your favorite fictional villain?
- A. I don't like baddies
- Q. If you could meet any historical character, who would it be and what would you say to him or her?
- A. I'd like to have a cup of tea with Charles Darwin, but I probably wouldn't know what to say to him!
- Q. What is your biggest pet peeve?
- A. someone walking really slowly in front of me and not being able to get past
- Q. What is your favorite occupation, when you’re not writing?
- A. reading, sleeping or both
- Q. What’s your fantasy profession?
- A. being a children's author - oh look at that - I am one!

- A. Kindness, understanding, empathy

- A. Baked potatoes with cheese and coleslaw

- Q. Is there a book you love to reread?
- A. Farmer Duck. I know if off by heart
- Q. Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers?
- A. Listen to criticism and learn from it.
- Q. What comment do you hear most often from your readers?
- A. I love your book! (Sorry, but its true!)
- Q. How did you come to write Supermarket Zoo?
- A. One day in the supermarket, I got to thinking that shopping with my children would be so much more fun if there were penguins lined up in the cool cabinet instead of milk bottles. What if the supermarket was full of animals instead of boring old boxes of cereals and tins of tomatoes? I started writing the story in June, 2005, which seems like an awfully long time ago now! To see all my ideas brought to life by Ed Eaves' amazing illustrations is such a thrill - I only wish our local co-op was quite as exciting!
