Donald McRae

Donald McRae is the award-winning author of seven books. He is one of only two authors to have won the prestigious William Hill award twice, for Dark Trade and In Black & White. As a journalist he has twice won Sports Interviewer of the Year - as well as winning Sports Feature Writer of the Year. His next book will be published by Simon & Schuster in 2015. He lives in Hertfordshire.

Donald McRae was born near Johannesburg in South Africa. Based in England since 1984, he has written six non-fiction books which have featured legendary trial lawyers, heart surgeons, sex workers and sporting icons. He has twice won the William Hill Sports Book of the Year. He is the current UK Sports Interviewer of the Year for his work in The Guardian and he also won the UK’s Sports Feature Writer of The Year.

His seventh book, Under Our Skin, a memoir of life under apartheid in South Africa will be published in 2012 by Simon & Schuster.
