A Gathering Storm - what are your stories?
By Rachel Hore - September 19, 2011
I'm very excited at the publication of my new novel, A GATHERING STORM. With its setting of World War Two, it was an intense experience to research and write, and it's not without some trepidation that I view the prospect of sharing this experience with my readers now. I very much hope that you enjoy the book. Maybe, like me, you grew up thrilled by stories your parents or grandparents told about living through that war, or maybe fighting in it. My mother, who was 9 when war broke out, loves to talk about turning their suburban Surrey garden into a smallholding, and how local houses were bombed. My father would describe how his school was evacuated from Kent to a hotel on a Cornish clifftop. Perhaps you, too, have memories or stories to tell? It would be interesting to hear them.
