Q. What are your most overused words or phrases? A. Absolutely Q. How would you describe perfect happiness? A. I think I am most perfectly happy when I am walking in a beautiful place, and spending time with the people I love. Q. With whom in history do you most identify? A. I don't think I identify with anyone from history - but I would love to dine with Oscar Wilde, Christopher Marlowe and Noel Coward. I would also like to spend a season walking with one of our European hunter-gatherer ancestors to find out just what pre-agricultural life was like. Q. Who is your favorite fictional hero? A. I have many, including Dorothea from Middlemarch, Sherlock Holmes, Martha Quest, Fuchsia from Gormenghast and the Scarabae from Tanith Lee's Blood Opera series. Learn more about Sarah Singleton
